Bethany Priscilla "Beth" Dalton (b. 9 July, 2002) is a pure-blood witch and the first daughter of Priscilla and Andrew Dalton. She is also the elder sister of Isabella and Gareth and the twin sister of Joshua. She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from April 2020 to July 2020. After graduating, she went to work at Madam Primpernelle's Beautifying Potions as a cashier while she trained as an Auror at the Ministry of Magic. She joined the Order of the Phoenix with her oldest brother, who also started training as an Auror. During this time, she left home to avoid an arranged marriage but subsequently returned when she could no longer support herself financially and had no access to the family vault at Gringotts Wizarding Bank.

Bethany began her education at Hogwarts in April 2020. She did all she could to persuade her parents not to force her and her relatives to go to the school but her attempts were ignored. She then turned her attention to getting kicked out and was assisted by those of her siblings and cousins who weren't prepared to give proper schooling a fair chance. Their aims of returning to education at home ultimately failed and Beth left the school at the end of the year, alongside her brother Joshua and cousin Evelyn. The rest of her siblings and cousins chose to stay at the school. During her four months at Hogwarts, Bethany was a seventh year Slytherin.

Bethany had an initially strong relationship with Isabella as her sister though this was naturally tested at many points during their childhoods when they would have arguments over things that, looking back on them from where they are now, were no reason to have an argument. They recently faced their biggest problem when Beth and Izzy both fell for the same person. Of course, only one person could win and at the end of it all, Bethany was the one who walked away with Chris. They didn't speak to each other for some time and Beth viewed her sister's attitude towards the situation as quite childish. Their relationship repaired itself within time and became even stronger when Isabella sacrificed her own happiness so that Beth wouldn't have to marry Byron, giving herself up in her place. While she was delighted to have more time before she got married, she was torn between emotions towards her sibling. She was angry that she had gone behind her back, even if for her own benefit, yet upset that there had been no other way to avoid marrying Byron. Bethany has made it her priority to ensure that she can repay Isabella for what she did for her, preferably before she joins the Nott family.

Dalton Estate[]
Bethany appears as she did before her relationship with Christopher Weasley in that she doesn't open up to other people or give them a chance to be her friend. She is still the daughter of Andrew and Priscilla with Joshua and Isabella as her siblings but Evelyn, Arthur and Harrison are also her siblings rather than her cousins. Similarly, Clifford and Maria are her paternal grandparents rather than her uncle and aunt. Differences to her character on A Changed Hogwarts are that she is 23 rather than 19 and employs Hayley Finch as her maid. She is yet to appear in any threads.
