Rosalie Scarlett "Rose" Black (b. October, 2000) is a full-blood witch and the only daughter of Connor and Rachel Black. She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from September 2012 to July 2019. She began working at Gladrags Wizardwear after the manager offered her a job for performing extremely well on a work experience placement and eventually became the assistant manager. Sometime before her promotion, she applied for and got a second job at Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Rosalie was the second of three children to be born to Connor and Rachel Black (née Dalton) and got her middle name from her paternal grandmother. She was born a few years after the end of the Second Wizarding War and grew up with her parents and two brothers in Hogsmeade. Despite being very close geographically to her mother's side of the family, she saw very little of her aunts, uncles and cousins during her childhood. On a few occasions they were invited to Dalton Estate on Andrew and Clifford's terms, which always included Rachel and her children being invited but never Connor. Rachel would go into the drawing room to speak with her brothers and Rose wouldn't have got further than halfway up the stairs before her mother returned and told her that they needed to go back home because she'd forgotten about something that needed to be done. She was always asked if she was still married to Connor, to which she would always reply yes, and so she was told to leave the house until she came to her senses.
Education at Hogwarts[]
Rose began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 2012 at the customary age of 11. She was sorted into Gryffindor house and was one of just two in her family for many generations to do so, the other being her cousin Evie. Even her mother, who strayed greatly from her siblings' views, was sorted into Slytherin. Rosie became a Prefect in her fifth year and held the position until leaving in her seventh year. She had been a candidate for Head Girl but it was given to her best friend instead, resulting in some jealousy and competition between the two of them to prove that they were the best girl for the job. On many occasions, she acted as if she was Head Girl and had even been tempted to swap badges with her friend but ultimately decided against it for fear that Hermione Malfoy, then Headmistress, would take her title away from her.
Career[]
Rosalie began her career during a work experience placement at Gladrags Wizardwear. She impressed the manager so much that she was promised a job when she finished her education. True to their word, she was employed at the Hogsmeade shop and performed just as well, if not better, as she had done on her placement. She did work as a cashier, sales assistant, seamstress and, on occasion, model. After two years, she was promoted to assistant manager. A few weeks before her promotion, she began a second job at Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occassions, holding a similar position to that which she initially held at Gladrags Wizardwear.
